Brand new IASO Backup 2010 is now available!

IASO Backup 2010 is designed to provide a safe and secure IP backup for business and consumer customers.

Our software is now even more efficient with the introduction of Dynamic slicing for Microsoft Office documents and many other popular file formats. At the heart of our solution is data-reduction provided by its client-side data de-duplication technology, which greatly reduces the amount of data that needs to be transported over the network and stored for the daily backup. Also the IASO Backup 2010 is easy to operate, as it requires no physical handling of backup media and has a simple straightforward user interface.

The software runs on all popular Operating Systems such as Windows (x86/x64 bits), Mac OS X, Linux (x86/x64 bits)
and FreeBSD.

Our software is currently available in most common EU languages, as well as in Japanese and Russian; Norwegian, Arabian, traditional and simplified Chinese will be added shortly.

The IASO Backup 2010 is highly optimized to use as little resources as possible. On the backup server side low-energy processors (Atom, CoreDuo) are already enough. Also the number of writes to the disks is minimized, allowing the disks to go into idle or sleep mode, using even less power.

New features

• Proxy support - this new feature allows users to set proxy settings. A proxy server acts as a security barrier between your internal network and the Internet, preventing other Internet users from accessing the information on your internal network.

• Status window - this window was developed instead of the progress window which was displayed during the process of backup and restore. Now the total size of files in backup and restore queue, the total size of cabinets that are not synchronized with the server yet and current traffic usage are displayed in graphs with a summary.

• Tray icon notifications - this new feature enables the monitoring of your backup and restore status via a pop-up tray icon.

• Dynamic slicing – smarter analog of delta slicing that uses knowledge about data structure of files being backed up for cutting them onto non-fixed size slices to achieve more efficiency in delta-backup.

• \Coming soon\ Bandwidth throttling - this new feature makes it possible to control allowed bandwidth used by the software. For example: if the bandwidth of your network is 10 Mbit/s and you don't want IASO Backup 2010 to use it in full on working days, set the value for bandwidth on working days 1 Mbit/s and at the weekend 8 Mbit/s.

• \Planning\ Local cabinet disk cache - this new feature makes it possible to use local disc space for storage. For example, there is data that is changed very often and you want to have the possibility to restore it very quickly without using the network. So you can have the copy of backed up data on your local disk and you need only to set the cache size and disk location. This feature is used for movable backup as well.
